Seven Oaks Lavender Farm in Catlett, VA

Seven Oaks Lavender Farm
8769 Old Dumfries Rd
Catlett, VA 20119

Bought a Groupon and decided to give them a try today. We were quite disappointed with Seven Oaks Lavender Farm. When it said farm, I thought good size... well, it's actually quite small, it's more like a garden.

When we get there, we went to the little house to turn in our paid groupon. After getting to the lavender area, there was no one there to help. No instructions on what kind of lavender they have and no one to answer questions, so we cut our 120 stems and return to the little house to check out and move on.

Would definitely go back to try other items.

Our server were excellent. However not so much with the food

The chili were good and so was the beef brisket. The mini pitcher drink were cute.

Brunswick Stew was not so good. Not Loaded but watery. Pulled Pork was dry. Cole slaw was not creamy and was tasteless. BBQ beans was very watery also. Cornbread would need butter.

Music here is good though.

Friendly tasting room staff and owner. Had a great time tasting their wine. Love the wine slush. Also a great place to have a picnic. There are plenty of picnic tables around the place. Very well maintain and comfortable feel to the place.

Got a bottle of Table Rock White. Love the mango flavor in it. Obsidian was not as sweet as I hope.

Johnny Rockets in Atlantic City, NJ

They were quite busy when we arrived, but our server did an excellent job taking care of us. Burger was good, and fried were non greasy. We had a great time watching servers do their dance.

Atlantic City Aquarium

800 N New Hampshire Ave
Atlantic City, NJ 08401

It is a very tiny Aquarium and not very well maintain. Tanks are all quite dirty inside and out. My kid had fun feeding the Stingray and that was the high point of this place in my opinion.

Not worth it.

Pig Out BBQ Pit in Glen Mills, PA
138 Glen Mills Rd.
Glen Mills, PA 19342

Heard so much about Pig Out BBQ Pit. It mentioned it was the best BBQ in Philly 2010. Decide to give it a try and make the special trip while it took us 3+ hours to get there, but unfortunately it was so not worth it.

Parking was no problem. When we got there, they are not too busy. Most people have it to go. While standing in line, other customer was very friendly and told us pull pork was good there.

When it was our turn, I mentioned that I saw on facebook that if I check in the place, I could get something free and ask if they are still doing that. Well, the owner jump right in and in a very rude kind of way told me NO... we no longer doing that and walked away. Well, I was not there for freebies, but to try their food, and he could just told me nicely.

We placed our order with a nice lady. Had ordered sandwich SAMPLER
1) Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork w/Mild BBQ Sauce: Pulled pork part was pretty good.
2) North Carolina Pulled Pork w/Coleslaw: Bread was soggy.
3) Pulled Chicken BBQ with Honey Mesquite BBQ Sauce: Chicken was dry but the bread was soggy.

Also ordered full rack of baby back ribs. These are the shortest baby back I have seen. First the temperature was not hot at all and the sauce was thicker than the rib itself. All I can tasted was the sauce. I thought I ordered ribs. They really do not need to sauce the ribs to death.

Mac-n-Cheese had a nice crust, but again it is just barely warm.

Did not get any free beer or friendly owner as other were mentioned. Did ordered some soda as well. Total $33+ dollars.

Will not go back and will not recommended. Unfortunately told some friends about this place before we try it. Will not make that mistake again.

The Dons' Wood-Fired Pizza

21018 Southbank St
Sterling, VA 20165

Were there at late afternoon... they are not too busy. The cashier and chef were very friendly.

Order The Casino Run Calzones and The Frankie P. Stromboli.

The Casino Run Calzones were a bit soggy.

I like the taste of The Frankie P. Stromboli better than Calzones, but the chicken were very very dry.

Korshi Buffet

5728 Pickwick Rd
Centreville, VA 20121
(703) 266-1119

If you like sushi and sashimi then you'll love Korshi. They offer all kinds of options cook and raw.

Also have hot food and Korean BBQ. If you are lucky enough, you might get half lobster as they only bring out a tray every hour or so, you might not get any if you are too slow.

For their dessert section, I love their flan.

PS. They charge the kids by height.

Best Peruvian Style Chicken I have ever had and the price is great.

Chicken is not dry, well season with crispy skin. Fried Yuca and Fried Plantains (but unfortunately did not come with sour cream) are both good. I love the Choclo con Queso (Peruvian corn with spanish cheese). Love their green sauce.

The place were quite busy, but they did a wonderful job keeping it clean. Would love to go back and try other menu items.

Haute Dog and Fries

Great place for light meal. Cool decor, bold color with lots nice painting and photographs. Hot Dog $3.50. Combo (with hand cut fries and soda) $7.95. Hot Dog is on the small side. Excellent sweet potato fried. Free pinball and pacman. Nice :)

Vintage 51

5 Cheese Fondue $7

Martin's Black Angus Roast Beef Panini $11

Childrens Menu Chicken Tender $6

French Mussels $9

I'll Give it 2 out of 5 stars

Vintage 51
25031 Riding Plz
Chantilly, VA 20152
(703) 722-2844

We arrived around 3 pm on Saturday afternoon, and took about 5 minutes to get seated.

The decor seems modern. However I was shocked to see 2 used napkins under our table also some crayons and broken glasses on the carpet at the next table. The whole place have three other customers and no one in the dining room but us. Yet... they can't keep the place clean.

5 Cheese Fondue $7 - We had bread and vegetable. I did not like the taste of their cheese fondue, but my husband liked it. However, the celery we got was not fresh and only have one thin slice of carrot.

French Mussels $9 - Good portion size, but the quality was not consistent and the temperature was a bit on the cold side.

Martin's Black Angus Roast Beef Panini $11 - Husband liked it. Could use more beef.

Childrens Menu Chicken Tender $6 (includes drinks, entree and a scoop of Gelato) Great value. Chicken Tenders were pretty standard restaurant quality, but the fried was on the greasy side.

They were not busy while we were there, but our server was too busy talking elsewhere that we had hard time to get her attention and she could have been a lot more friendlier.

When I saw their menu online I was so wanted to try them, but after tried them I was so so disappointed.

Baja Fresh Mexican Grill #320

13940 Lee Jackson MEM HWY
Chantilly VA 20151

After watching Undercover Boss last weekend, decided to give Baja Fresh another try. Steak and Shrimp Baja Bowl $2.10 with a coupon (normally would cost $8.29+tax)

Great deal with coupon, but not so much for regular price. Steak and Shrimp Baja bowl does not take bad, is just could have a little more in it would be great. This location is quite dirty. They need to take care of the place better.

Red Robin Review

14450 Chantilly Crossing Ln
Chantilly, VA 20151

Been to Red Robin many times. They have wonderful selections for burgers. I like their Burnin' Love Burger. I ordered Medium well today, but got the raw side. :( They have bottomless steak fries with burgers. Tasted pretty good when they remember to season it. I like that you can ask to replace the bun with whole grain bun.

They have under 10 calories ice tea and lemonade which tasted pretty good. I have tried Triple S Riblet Basket before and loved it.

I have never tried it but they do offer Bottomless Root Beer Float.

Parking could be a problem.

Famous Dave's Review

14452 Chantilly Crossing Lane
Chantilly, VA 20151

Visit Famous Dave's last night. Love their Lunch & Early Bird Specials. Served daily till 5:30 p.m. Service last night was not so great, but the food is amazing (I would give a five star if the service was good yesterday).

Ordered 2 meats lunch special Platter. Buffalo chicken wings were good, but did not come with any sauce and only one tiny piece of carrot and a strip of celery. The Rib tips were delicious and not too much bone this time. Potato salad tasted really good, but I think they shrunk the portion.

Dave's Famous Bread Pudding was amazing. A must try.

Would definitely go back again. Great place for family

The Wine Kitchen review

7 S. King St
Leesburg, VA 20175

Was there on Saturday night around 6. Waited 30 minutes for a table.

If you are going to The Wine Kitchen for wine. They do have a good selections. However drinking a bottle there will cost you $10 more than if you would just buy the bottle and take it home.

As far as their food goes. Tiny portions for the price charged.

Lamb sausage ($10). Three half pinky size sausage. They were too gamey for me, but my husband liked it.

Mussels and Sausage ($11) Not bad. Portion size is ok.

Mac and Cheese ($6). Pretty average.

Dessert was interesting.

Not a very comfortable environment to eat. Why? Because they do not have many seats available and you will have to stand in the middle of the room line up waiting for your turn and then when it's finally your turn, there will be plenty of eyes looking at you waiting for you to finish.

Old Country Buffet review

9650 Main St
Fairfax, VA 22031

We were here at Sunday night around 6, and took more than 30 minutes to find a table for us. Very busy.

Price is not too bad. $10.29 for adult. Beverage is $1.98 extra.

The salad have lots of options, but not many types of fruit.

The fried chicken was really really good. Crispy skin with juicy meat. Highly recommended. The steak was not too bad. However, I ask for medium well and medium at different trips, but both time got very well done. Fried shrimp and fish had very thick breading. Corn soup tasted pretty decent.

For drinks, they have soda, milk, cappuccino, tea,...

Lots of options for food, but the place is really messy and does not smell too good. Service was OK. It's not easy find parking.

Barnes & Noble Groupon

Bought a Groupon for $10 for $20 worth of product. Redeem at a store without any problem. Great deal.

MixBook.com review

I have never heard of Mixbook MixBook.com before. I saw a Groupon: for $15, you get $50 worth of product, so I decide to give them a try.

Their online software was easy to use. With Groupon you either have to order more and pay extra (I did it this way and pay the difference) or loose money as they do not give you refund. ALSO, shipping cost is extra and no other discount apply.

I choose Budget shipping since that's the cheapest option. They could fit all 6 (4x6") books in a USPS priority mail for $5.00 easily without extra fee and I could get it faster, but that's not an option. So I have to pay $12.44 for the slow budget shipping and wait patiently.

Received my books today. The print quality of the final product was quite disappointed and they do not look exactly as the online software's layout. So if you do want to try them, be sure to leave some rooms on the edge.

Rangoli Review

Rangoli
24995 Riding Plaza, Suite 120
Chantilly, Virginia 20152

I had Indian food at different countries and cities. Rangoli's service was good and friendly. Their food looks colorful but do not have much taste. Would not go back again.

Otani Japanese Steak & Seafood Review

13952 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy
Chantilly, VA 20151
(703) 802-3400
www.myotani.com

After bought a Groupon, we decided to give Otani a try last night. We called and after 10 rings, someone finally pick up the phone. I can understand if it's a busy night, however, she was rude. I asked when's the earliest I can make a reservation for the night, she hang up on me.

If we did not have a Groupon, we would just go somewhere else for dinner. Anyway, my husband called and somehow got a reservation for us.

We got there early and waited. No problem with that. The chef was really nice and cool and gave a good show.

Now about the food. We ordered Otani Single B: Chicken and
Otani Single C: Steak.

That come with: Appetizer, Meal and Dessert

Appetizer included: Soup, Salad, Romen and 2 pc shrimp
The soup had good taste. The salad was nothing to write home about. The shrimp was pretty good. Romen noodle was not bad.

Meal vegetable was good but the amount was quite small. Order fried rice (need to add $2.00) You would think after adding $2 you would get something more than just rice. Well, you do get few piece of mix vegetable and egg, and lots of salt and soy sauce. In my opinion, it's not worth the addition $2. The chicken was quite dry. The steak was ok.

The white dipping sauce with horseradish was good, but don't really needed for the salty stuff. The brown dipping sauce had lots of ginger which I am not a big fan of.

Now re: Dessert. We never got our Sherbet. We got 2-3 piece of M & M size candy per person. They did not tell us they run out of Sherbet?

Will I go back? No, I don't think so. The flavor was just salty with salt and soy sauce. The owner was rude. It's so loud in there that you can't hear your friend talking.
