Seven Oaks Lavender Farm in Catlett, VA

Seven Oaks Lavender Farm
8769 Old Dumfries Rd
Catlett, VA 20119

Bought a Groupon and decided to give them a try today. We were quite disappointed with Seven Oaks Lavender Farm. When it said farm, I thought good size... well, it's actually quite small, it's more like a garden.

When we get there, we went to the little house to turn in our paid groupon. After getting to the lavender area, there was no one there to help. No instructions on what kind of lavender they have and no one to answer questions, so we cut our 120 stems and return to the little house to check out and move on.

Very friendly service. Bought Kettle Korn and tried cider. Both very good. Too bad they no longer sell at Gilberts Corner because that's where I got it.

Would definitely go back to try other items.

Our server were excellent. However not so much with the food

The chili were good and so was the beef brisket. The mini pitcher drink were cute.

Brunswick Stew was not so good. Not Loaded but watery. Pulled Pork was dry. Cole slaw was not creamy and was tasteless. BBQ beans was very watery also. Cornbread would need butter.

Music here is good though.

Friendly tasting room staff and owner. Had a great time tasting their wine. Love the wine slush. Also a great place to have a picnic. There are plenty of picnic tables around the place. Very well maintain and comfortable feel to the place.

Got a bottle of Table Rock White. Love the mango flavor in it. Obsidian was not as sweet as I hope.

They were quite busy when we arrived, but our server did an excellent job taking care of us. Burger was good, and fried were non greasy. We had a great time watching servers do their dance.

Atlantic City Aquarium

800 N New Hampshire Ave
Atlantic City, NJ 08401

It is a very tiny Aquarium and not very well maintain. Tanks are all quite dirty inside and out. My kid had fun feeding the Stingray and that was the high point of this place in my opinion.

Not worth it.

Pig Out BBQ Pit in Glen Mills, PA

Glen Mills, PA 19342

Heard so much about Pig Out BBQ Pit. It mentioned it was the best BBQ in Philly 2010. Decide to give it a try and make the special trip while it took us 3+ hours to get there, but unfortunately it was so not worth it.

Parking was no problem. When we got there, they are not too busy. Most people have it to go. While standing in line, other customer was very friendly and told us pull pork was good there.

When it was our turn, I mentioned that I saw on facebook that if I check in the place, I could get something free and ask if they are still doing that. Well, the owner jump right in and in a very rude kind of way told me NO... we no longer doing that and walked away. Well, I was not there for freebies, but to try their food, and he could just told me nicely.

We placed our order with a nice lady. Had ordered sandwich SAMPLER
1) Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork w/Mild BBQ Sauce: Pulled pork part was pretty good.
2) North Carolina Pulled Pork w/Coleslaw: Bread was soggy.
3) Pulled Chicken BBQ with Honey Mesquite BBQ Sauce: Chicken was dry but the bread was soggy.

Also ordered full rack of baby back ribs. These are the shortest baby back I have seen. First the temperature was not hot at all and the sauce was thicker than the rib itself. All I can tasted was the sauce. I thought I ordered ribs. They really do not need to sauce the ribs to death.

Mac-n-Cheese had a nice crust, but again it is just barely warm.

Did not get any free beer or friendly owner as other were mentioned. Did ordered some soda as well. Total $33+ dollars.

Will not go back and will not recommended. Unfortunately told some friends about this place before we try it. Will not make that mistake again.
